Butter and margarine have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fat with 8 grams compared to 5 grams saturated fat in margarine.

Margarine has been around for less than 100 years; butter has been used for centuries.

Margarine decreases insulin response, and lowers immunity.

The definition of, and standards for, butter in the U.S. were first set by Congress in 1886.
