Detoxing Children
My ADHD Child
Q: I have started giving my 4-year son two French Green Clay capsules in the morning and two at bedtime. Is this dosage okay?
A: Yes, this is great. Increasing the dose to three at a time will not do him harm, it will just serve to speed the detoxification of his heavy metals.
Because his body is so small, we want to make this process of eliminating his high load of metals a steady and comfortable removal of dangerous toxins.
So, two capsules at a time is a great dose. Consistency is the key here; don't stop pulling the lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury out before they are all the way out, though. This may take time, but children are so resilient; they respond very quickly.
Niacin For A Child
Q: I am not seeing any FLUSH after giving my 5-year old daughter 50-mg. niacin. Can I increase the dosage? In her hair analysis report, you recommended only 50-mg. for a child her age. Kindly advise if I need to increase the dosage or give her multiple 50-mg. doses in one day.
A: Her metals were very high, so this does not surprise me. YES, you can increase the dose to 100-mg and remain there once a day. The flush will come, eventually. As an alternative, it is also safe to give her 50-mg. twice a day to break through these toxic metal layers quicker. So, you can either give her 50-mg. twice a day or 100-mg. once a day. You choose what is best for your schedule.
Adding Extra Detox Vitamins
Q: Apart from giving my son the B vitamins, Detox Vitamin C and the Perfect Calcium, I am also giving him 20-mg. of Alpha Lipoic Acid at lunchtime. Is this OK?
A: Yes, this is fine. You are doing great! Many products for detoxing are available, and you could simply go on forever adding this or that. The thing to NOT do is to get burned out, or let your child get burned out on taking supplements. Alpha Lipoic Acid is a great supplement, though, and adding this to your routine is a good choice.
L-Cysteine and Autism
Q: I am giving my autistic son 20-mg. L - Cysteine in the morning. Is this all right? I have read that L-Cysteine is good for autism.
A: I do not recommend isolated amino acids to be taken by anyone, at any age, at any time because an isolated amino acid is not natural. Continue this supplement but give it to him with an additional amino acid complex that has at least 8 amino acids together. The L-Cysteine may not do any good if it doesn't have the remaining 7 essential amino acids included to work with it. And at his age, an isolated amino acid could be very harmful, especially since he has a compromised situation sourcing in the brain.
If you give him the extra L-Cysteine with a Complex Amino Acid supplement in the morning, this will more safely provide the "brain protein" his brain needs and will benefit from.
