When faced with an illness, it is easy to become overwhelmed. Believe me; I am speaking from personal experience. But rather than closing down and giving into the fear of being faced with a very difficult situation, try to remain open and allow your intuition to guide you into "the unknown." Many times, your medical doctor may have no idea why you are ill, and may be close-minded to alternative solutions that can help with your new health challenge, but don't give up hope at the hands of another's outlook. Research your illness and all your options, and take it upon yourself to participate in your healing process.
Contradictory studies concerning many diseases, chemical food additives, pharmaceuticals, and even some natural foods themselves, try to convince us at times that some things are good for us and some things are bad. At some point, though, you must decide for yourself whether diet products, coffee or tomatoes for example, are good for you or not. Disease is different for each individual, and this is something that scientific studies can't quite account for. Especially when product safety studies and cures for diseases are performed on laboratory animals only, and not on humans.
The best thing you can do to face a challenging illness is take in all the information available to you, both sides of the issue, and process it through your own, personal system of understanding, ethics, and beliefs. In the end, only you can decide what information, new ideas, and controversial concepts you should integrate into your personal life journey.
Remaining open allows you to continually change and evolve into a superior individual - especially if you have been diagnosed with a disease. By staying true to yourself, you can grow and learn through new information and expanded outlooks. This keeps you flexible and alert, and while it can feel a bit like being thrown off balance at the time, this openness is essential to the process of self-growth and personal expansion. And this breeds great wisdom as a final outcome.
Throughout life, we will all go through the processes of learning new information, integrating it into our personal experiences, and expanding our worldview. No sooner than when we have reached some kind of stability and understanding, will we be challenged yet again with more information and new experiences. But this is true growth, and the best way to enhance your personal experiences as well as contribute to the betterment of all existence.
If you see yourself as always open and willing to attune to the next lesson in your life, you will see how blessed you are to have an opportunity to saver the life you are here to experience. What you perceive as a bad experience may actually be one of the best encounters pushing you farther into life than you could ever imagine.
