When I was 28 years old I began having panic attacks. I was using Alka-Seltzer with aspartame for heartburn. At that time I did not realize that aspartame was a trigger for my panic disorder. I do my best to avoid it now, but sometimes it sneaks back into my life via well-hidden product ingredients, and my anxiety and panic returns. When I make a thorough check of everything that I am consuming during this recurring anxiety, I ALWAYS, ALWAYS find that there is aspartame somewhere in my diet. When I discontinue using that aspartame product, my symptoms of panic and anxiety disappear. This has occurred numerous times. My anxiety triggered by aspartame has left me partially debilitated. This is also the case for my mother. I hope to help prevent others from aspartame induced panic.
