When I was 18, I started drinking Crystal Lite® light faithfully because it was quick and easy. But after about 6 or 7 months, I began getting severe chest pains. For months I could not figure out what was causing it, until I noticed that after I had a cold glass of Crystal Lite, almost instantly I would get piercing chest pains. So I decided to try to cut aspartame out of my diet. After that, I never had the chest pains again. I thought I was in the clear until I turned 19. I am now diagnosed with hypoglycemia (after countless visits with doctors, specialists and tests), which is very closely linked to consuming aspartame. Some of my symptoms were: severe dizziness(syncope), loss of concentration, anxiety, confusion, and difficulty speaking to others. It has been about 6 months in counting that I have been dealing with it, so I'm hoping it is not long term.
I hope my story will help someone save time searching for cause of their illness, or maybe even prevent them from getting sick. We must do something about this because aspartame affects your health and the health your friends and family.
