Recognizing a Stroke

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. You may be able to help a person suffering a stroke by the following:

  1. Ask the person to smile.
  2. Ask the person to talk and speak a simple sentence, i.e. It is warm today.
  3. Ask the person to raise both arms.
  4. Ask the person to stick out their tongue. If the tongue is crooked and goes to one side or the other, this may be an indication of a stroke.
  5. If a stroke victim can get medical help within three hours, the negative effects can more likely be reversed. The key is to recognize, diagnose, and receive emergency care within three hours.

Natural ways to help prevent a stroke:

    1. Eat 1/4 cup frozen or fresh raspberries each day to strengthen the capillary walls.
    2. Drink raspberry tea from tea leaves twice a week - steep for 20 minutes in one-cup distilled water.
    3. Eat horseradish with your protein meals for improved circulation and to help cleanse fatty tissues.
    4. Eat an orange at least twice a week, and also eat the white membrane under the orange skin as well as the pulp to aide in the removal of cholesterol.
    5. Avoid heat to the head. When gardening in the heat, use a cold rag or ice pack on the neck or head.

    Help for the circulatory system:

    1. Salvia, rutin and horse chestnut all help to thicken thin capillary walls.
    2. Vitamin C from ascorbic acid with Bioflavonoid cleanses the arterial walls.
    3. Ginko Biloba (liquid preferred) serves as a blood thinner.
    4. Flax seed oil (liquid preferred) cleanses the blood and strengthens the arteries.
    5. Pure B3 niacin (not flush-free) thins the blood and removes toxins.
    6. Hawthorn with hibiscus strengthens the heart muscle.
